Acceptable Use Policy
Oracy Spark · Last updated 25 August 2026
This policy forms part of the Oracy Spark Terms and applies to the School and every person using the service under its subscription.
1. The School must
limit access to authorised staff at the licensed School;
keep login details secure and promptly report suspected unauthorised access;
use the service only for lawful, supervised educational activity within the licensed School;
apply professional judgement, safeguarding procedures and suitable adaptations;
respect copyright, privacy and the rights of pupils, staff and third parties; and
cooperate with reasonable steps to investigate and remedy suspected misuse.
2. Users must not
share access with another school, trust school, parent, pupil, tutor, consultant or external organisation;
upload, republish, broadcast, resell, distribute or place substantial Oracy Spark content in public or organisation-wide repositories;
systematically copy, record, scrape, archive or download the service;
use Oracy Spark content to develop, train, populate or market a competing or substantially similar product;
remove ownership or attribution notices;
attempt to defeat access controls, test vulnerabilities without permission, introduce malware or interfere with availability;
use the service for unlawful, discriminatory, abusive, misleading or rights-infringing activity; or
enter pupil names, pupil responses, safeguarding information, special-category data or other pupil personal information into the service.
3. Classroom use and public displays
Staff may display content during supervised lessons, assemblies or school activities and make limited lesson-specific copies as permitted by the Terms. Publicly posting screenshots, recordings or substantial extracts is not permitted without our prior written permission. Incidental appearance in a photo or short clip of ordinary classroom activity should be avoided where practical and must never substitute for publishing or distributing the resource.
4. Enforcement
We may ask for an explanation, require corrective action or a password reset, restrict particular activity, or suspend access while investigating a credible concern. We will normally give a minor or accidental breach a reasonable chance to be corrected. Serious, deliberate or repeated misuse may lead to termination without refund, subject to applicable law.
5. Reporting concerns
Report security issues, unauthorised sharing or other misuse to hello@oracyspark.com. Do not publicly disclose a suspected vulnerability before giving us a reasonable opportunity to investigate.
