About Oracy Spark

Oracy Spark was created to make high-quality speaking and listening easy to deliver in real classrooms.

​

In busy schools, it can be difficult to find time to plan meaningful opportunities for children to talk, explain and express their ideas. Oracy Spark removes that barrier with simple, structured activities that are ready to use.

​

We are primary teachers with over 30 years of combined classroom experience across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. We know how speaking and listening develop from a child’s first conversations through to confident discussion and debate in upper primary. We also know how little planning time teachers have.

​

That experience shapes everything we create. Alongside our daily discussion prompts, Oracy Spark is growing to include ready-to-use presentations, resources to revisit and adapt, and the Spark Generator, which helps teachers create a discussion prompt for a topic their class is exploring.

Whether you need a few minutes of talk at the start of the day, a focused small-group activity or a prompt linked to your current learning, our aim is to make it easy to get children talking.
